Follow my yoga quest at home and on the road…

YogiOnTheMove is about a yoga practising, travel loving being… In this blog I tell the story of where, with whom,  how, and why, I make my yoga practice. And, I will tell you a little about the place(s) I am visiting.

My yoga history: I attended my first Iyengar asana class in London in 1987 which I enjoyed, however I was not in a place where I was ready to commit to yoga. I have nibbled at yoga on quite a few occasions since that first lesson…  sticking at it for a few months, or a year.

Since 2008 I have applied serious effort, eg attend classes regularly, undertake home practice, attend workshops and retreats, and read.

I have practiced Iyengar and Ashtanga methods… and variations, eg vinyasa, flow, Yin

I am most fortunate, and grateful, to have numerous yoga teachers nearby to my home. And, when I travel I seek out local teachers.

Hi YogaCat, thanks for visiting our blog and for the like on the post about Varanasi. In case you’re interested there’s a second post about Varanasi focusing on life on the river:
I think it’s better than the first.
I’ve been travelling around your blog a bit – it’s very professional and your love for yoga shines through. We go to classes whenever we can though being nomadic it’s not always possible. At the moment we’re living in Mexico for a few months so we’re going 4 days per week. We’re always aware of how much better we feel when we’re doing regular yoga practice.

Hi Alison – awesome to connect with you 🙂 Thanks for the link to your second Varanasi post – will check it out. I visited India and Nepal (incl Varanasi) around 25 years ago. It is on my “list” to revisit that part of the world… The list is long (LOL)

Your life with Don sounds wonderful. I really like your joint gravatar photo 🙂

Great that you are currently to able make regular asana practice – my experience is that the more I practice yoga the better life becomes.

Appreciate your comps on my blog.

Wishing you happy and safe travels..
