I was due to attend a five day residential Iyengar retreat at Jhana Grove meditation centre in Western Australia (WA), 7-12 July 2013. The retreat was going to be lead by Alan Goode of Yoga Mandir, Canberra (ACT). On Monday 1 July, I received a message advising that due to sad circumstances the retreat had to be cancelled.

One of the other retreat attendees – who is also a Perth based Iyengar yoga teacher (Ann Dragon), has kindly put together an alternative non residential programme, which will be delivered 8-13 July 2013. I will be writing details of this programme in another post…

I attended the July 2012 residential Iyengar workshop at the Jhana Grove centre, which I thoroughly enjoyed. Attendees came from various locations, and some travelled long distances to attend, eg from Denmark (WA), Darwin (NT) and Broome (WA). A friend (Fran) whom I met at last year’s retreat was making the trip from Darwin to WA again this year. Following news of the retreat cancellation Fran, and a friend, decided to use the time to make a road trip in SW Western Australia. Fran is a dedicated yogi, and has a daily asana practice.
